When the Malyadwaja Pandiyan King prayed for a boy baby, but he was blessed with a girl child. Irrespective of being a Goddess Meenakshi had to prove herself for being loved by her parents. So, she won many battles not only from outside but also within herself, and she was crowned as the ‘Queen of Madurai’ by her father. People praise her for her Beauty, Boldness and Braveness. But many of them forgot to see the other side of her loving and caring, which was noticed by a supreme named Shiva so called Sundareswarar, who fought and defeated her in the battle, and won her heart with love and married her. Irrespective of Gender, Status, Capability – never ever give up on ourselves, no matter what happens in the journey of life.
The Kind Rajasekara Pandiyan learns the art of Dance and realizes the hardships of dancing. He arranged a Pooja by Praying and performing a ritual to Lord Shiva (the king of dance who gave 108 karanas). The lord Shiva asked the king what he wants. The king requested lord Shiva to change his left leg to right leg as he stood for very long time. Lord Shiva was pleased with the king’s request.

A spectacle of Culture and Tradition of Madurai, where the Shaiva’s and Vaishnava’s join together for one of the longest festival in the world! This festival is not just an event, but a cultural phenomenon which brings to life the rich heritage of Madurai people.
Originally, the Shaiva and Vaishnava festivals were celebrated separately. However, during the rule of king Thirumalai Nayakar, they were merged to symbolizes the unity and transcends religious boundaries.
This painting brings out my memories that I cherish the most.
Rishi Mandooka who was cursed by Dhuruvasa saint to turn into a frog, but Mandooka, was able to redeem himself through devout prayers in the Vaigai river that flows in the mid of Madurai City. Lord Alagar, revered for his kindness lifted the curse of Mandooka by converting him back to human.
We may get setbacks in our life, but never lose our Determination and Hope, no matter what happens.
